Néstor Gómez

Teaching Pastor

Pastor Nestor Gomez is originally from Mexico; he emigrated to the US in 2012 from Cadereyta Jimenez, Nuevo Leon. Pastor Nes was raised as a Roman Catholic in a distressed and overlooked neighborhood. However, when he was eight, he would step foot in a small church plant established in his block by a faithful and humble pastor (Pastor Efrain Muñoz) and his beautiful wife (Hermana Rosy). God used this community of saints to share the good news of Jesus and disciple Pastor Nestor's dad, who would become the first Christian in the Gomez family. From that moment on, the local church became the most influential and restoring place on earth for the Gomez family.

As early as he was 16 years old, Nestor experienced a burning desire to serve as a pastor. After being a church member within the local church, on October 25, 2020, this internal calling to become a pastor was publicly affirmed by the saints of a small church plant (Bluegrass Community Church) located 1,450 miles from where this dream started.

Pastor Nestor is passionate about Reformed Theology and Misión Integral. He is currently completing an MDiv. From The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and serves as a chaplain for Lexington's 11th District. Additionally, he serves as a Crisis Response Advocate against gun violence and gang activity with OneLexington.

When he is not ministering to the church, Pastor Nes can be found fishing in a river somewhere in the Bluegrass or spending time with his wife, Hannah, and his kids in Lexington's 11th District.
